Welcome to the Northern Ireland Young Musician of the Year competition.  This prestigious competition provides young performers, both instrumental and vocal, with an opportunity to display their musical talents in an encouraging and supportive atmosphere. For many of our contestants, it has provided a valuable stepping-stone to a career in music. What the competition offers:


• 1st, 2nd and runner-up prizes to the value of £500, £200 and £150 respectively.

• At the adjudicator’s discretion, a special prize for the most promising entrant who is under 16 on the day of the competition.

• A written adjudication from an experienced professional musician for all entrants

• Further performance opportunities for the finalists, organised by Comber Rotary

• A post-competition master class organised for finalists

• Significant media opportunities for the winner

• The opportunity for the winner to progress to the Rotary International Britain & Ireland National Young Musician competition.
